Rooted in These Waters

I was born and raised near the Campbell River estuary. As a kid I’d ride my bike to the river, the local docks, and the beaver ponds, rod in hand, chasing whatever fish were around. I was lucky enough to fish with both my grandfathers, and those early days on the water shaped everything that came after.

I’ve been fly fishing seriously for over 20 years and guiding for more than 10. After college I spent 17 years in the telecom industry, juggling a guiding career alongside it — until I made the decision to commit to guiding full time. I’m now raising my young family here in Campbell River, close to the same water I grew up on.

When I take you out, you’re not getting a tourist experience. You’re getting someone who grew up here, knows the region intimately, and genuinely loves this place.
